CAN CONTROL SYSTEM LAUNCHED

Mainline's new CAN Control System (CCS) was launched at the 2024 Pri Trade Show in Indianapolis USA ( 12-14 December 2024).

Over the three days of the PRI Show, we received an incredibly positive response to the new CCS. The new Mainline CAN Control System is the “next level” in sophisticated dynamometer control and accurate data acquisition technology.

The CCS features emerging and innovative hardware and software technologies that will satisfy the most fastidious operators. As the name suggests, this dynamometer technology is based on a robust, dependable, and efficient CAN communication network between a central head display unit and a remote CAN control unit, or multiple CAN control units, resulting in much faster data transfer speeds, faster control response and increased sensitivity for transient or intermittent data changes.

The new CCS models feature very sophisticated and advanced modes of operation that include the following testing solutions:
• Fixed Speed (Steady State Control)
• Fixed Torque (Variable Speed Fixed Load / Torque Control)
• Drive Mode (Road Load Simulation ) According to Vehicle Weight & Coefficient Data.
• Linear Ramp Test ( 100% Linear Acceleration Test)
• User Definable Non-Linear Ramp ( Download vehicle driveshaft curves and perform track run simulations on the dyno)
• Drag Strip Run Data Download & Run Simulations
• "Staged" Drag Racing Modes (Over Distance & Time and Vehicle Weight & Coefficient Data) ( Time Slip Issued at Run Completion)
• Torque Balancing / Vectoring (Torque Percentage Left to Right)
• 10 Minute Continuous Data Logger (Pause, Resume. Review Logs – Save – Recall Logs)

10 MINUTE CONTINUOUS DATA LOGGER

The Mainline CCS (CAN Control System) employs the very latest in dynamometer control technology. The dynamometer control incorporates various strategies to ensure fast, accurate and precise control of the vehicle under test.

Mainlines CCS dynamometers feature fully mapped eddy current retarders. This means the performance characteristics of the eddy current retarders under all expected operating conditions are known in advance, which allows for a fully optimised and precise control strategy to be implemented across all test modes.

The CCS also employs a combined "Feed Forward" & PID controller which is a more advanced control system that can proactively predict a control strategy response to quickly changing demand or torque requirements, thus reducing the total error correction required by a traditional PID (proportional, integral, and derivative) controller. In simple terms, the dynamometer controller is focusing on the future control challenges, objectives, and solutions, instead of the past, and quickly respond to any required load corrections ahead of time, precisely matching the performance characteristics of the vehicle being tested.

Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers are a Preferred Supplier to Capricorn Society Members.

Capricorn was established in 1974 by a small group of Western Australian service station owners to increase their buying power and level the playing field with the big multinational oil companies. They are a member-based organisation proudly operating by cooperative principles to primarily support businesses in the automotive industry. Their approach allows Members to better manage their businesses by saving time and money.

Capricorn offers its Members a broader range of services, including equipment finance, travel services, and business protection. Operating on cooperative principles means their Members are the owners too and are eligible to receive dividends if declared. Members also enjoy regular social and networking events.

Today, Capricorn has over 25,000 Members and over 2,000 committed Preferred Suppliers across Australia and New Zealand, all looking to support the automotive industry

We are pleased to announce reaching a major company, and product, milestone with ProHub Dyno sales now surpassing 150 units exported to the United States.

We would like to thank all our US based clients for their patronage, and for choosing our ProHub products, over all others, for their performance and business needs.

We look forward to many more units being sent across the Pacific to new homes in the USA in the years to come.
